Backup & Recovery

Backup & Disaster Recovery for Ventura County Businesses

Your business shouldn't have a single point of failure. A failed drive, a ransomware attack or a simple mistake shouldn't take your drawings, production data, customer records or financials with it. Hawk plans recovery in from day one.

What's / Included

Backup that's actually recoverable.

A backup nobody has restored from is an assumption, not a plan.

Backup planning & monitoring

Backups scheduled around how much data each system can afford to lose, and monitored so a failed job gets noticed and fixed.

File & server recovery

When something goes wrong, the focus is getting a specific file or a whole server back — not just confirming a backup exists.

Microsoft 365 backup planning

Email, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams data protected beyond Microsoft’s built-in retention.

Ransomware recovery planning

Immutable, off-site backup copies an attacker with network access can’t delete or encrypt — plus a plan for restoring from them.

Recovery testing

Periodic restore tests, so recovery is proven — not assumed.

Business continuity planning

A documented plan for what happens to your team and your operation if a location or system goes down.

Why It Matters

Why recovery planning matters for operational businesses.

A lost CAD model, a corrupted inventory database or a down file server isn't just an inconvenience. It can stop design work, production or shipping against a deadline that doesn't move.

  • Large CAD, BIM and engineering files backed up completely, not just database records.
  • Field laptops and shared devices included in the plan where they hold data that matters.
  • Backup schedules, retention and recovery priorities set with you, based on your systems and tolerance for downtime.

FAQ

Common questions about backup and recovery.

How often are our files backed up?

It depends on the system. We set backup frequency and retention with you, based on how much data each system can afford to lose — critical systems and active files can be backed up more often.

What happens if we get hit by ransomware?

Immutable, off-site backup copies are designed to let us restore systems to a point before the attack, instead of depending on the attackers.

Where is our backup data stored?

Every plan includes immutable copies stored off-site, separate from your network. Whether you also need an on-site copy for faster local restores depends on your environment, and we’ll recommend the right mix.

Do you actually test that restores work?

Yes. Restore testing is part of every plan, on a schedule agreed with you — an untested backup is a guess, not a plan.

Doesn’t Microsoft back up our Microsoft 365 data?

Microsoft keeps the service running, but its retention for deleted or overwritten data is limited. We plan Microsoft 365 backup separately so email, OneDrive and SharePoint data can be recovered.

How fast can you restore a single file versus a whole server?

A single file or folder is usually a quick, straightforward restore. A full server restore depends on the size of the environment, so it’s scoped and documented in your business continuity plan ahead of time.
